Interesting Pyramids in other places

The Pyramid of the Sun is the third largest pyramid in the world.
It was constructed between 1 A.D. and 250 A.D.
It is located next to the Pyramid of the Moon in Teotihuacan, Mexico.
The location of the two pyramids was considered a holy place, where the ancients believed the universe was created.
There is a cave under the Pyramid of the Sun, which was the site of religious ceremonies.
The Pyramid was discovered shortly after 1900, but the cave wasn't found until the 1970′s.
The pyramid is 200 feet tall. The foundation is a square and each side of the square is 730 feet long.
The perimeter of the Pyramid of the Sun is exactly equal to the perimeter of the Great Pyramid in Giza.
This begs the question, were the designers of the Pyramid of the Sun the same beings as the designers of the Great Pyramid?

Oceanographer Paulina Zelitsky discovered a sunken city on the Cuban shelf in 2000.
This city contains three underwater pyramids, buildings and roads.
It was discovered using side scanning sonar. This type of sonar uses sound waves to image the ocean floor.
Researchers theorize that the city sunk after an earthquake 2000 years ago.
The discovery proves that North Americans arrived earlier than thought and that they did not arrive via the Bering Strait.
This agrees with the findings of British archaeologists who discovered human tracks that were 40,000 years old.
The pyramids in the sunken city are 8000 to 10000 years old which predates the Egyptian pyramids which are 3000 to 5000 years old.
The city is located at a depth of 2200 feet, which is too deep for scuba divers to explore. The sunken city is being explored by Remote Operated Video (ROV).
An expedition is being planned which will be funded by National Geographic.

Off the coast of Japan, there is an ancient city which covers 311 miles. This city has been dated to 8000 B.C.
The oldest pyramid in Egypt, which the Step Pyramid is dated to 3000 B.C.
The interesting thing about this find is that it appears to be as old as the underwater city off Cuba, which was discovered by Paulina Zelitsky.
Near the Island of Yonaguni, scuba divers found an underwater pyramid in 100 feet of water.
The building is 240 feet long.
The archaeological find covers eight separate locations.
The archaeological record for Japan is traced back to the Neolithic period 9000 years ago.. Nothing in that time frame suggests the the Japanese of the period had the technology to build the structures such as the ones in the underwater pyramid.
Jim Mower, an archaeologist at University College, London, said, “If it is confirmed that the site is as old as 10000 years and is man-made, then this is going to change an awful lot of the previous thinking on southeast Asian history. It would put the people on a par with the ancient civilization of Mesopotamia and the Indus Valley.”

The Lost Pyramid-Abu Rawash

Located 8 kilometers north of Giza, Egypt Abu Rawash is the pyramid of Pharaoh Djedefre, who was the successor of Pharaoh Khufu.
Early 20th century Egyptologists thought that Djedefre had betrayed his family. They thought that is had murdered his older brother in order to ascend to the throne. Later, they believed that Djedefre was murdered by his younger brother to avenge his older brother’s death.
When more research was done in recent years, it was discovered that he revered his father.
He had the Great Sphinx carved in the image of his father, Khufu.
In the walls of the Great Pyramid there are many inscriptions and paintings which praise Djedefre.
Through other research, it was discovered that Djedefre was a popular ruler.
Djedefre was on the throne for approximately 20 years.
He completed his pyramid at Abu Rawash. It stood higher than the Great Pyramid because it was built on higher ground.
The first 30 feet of the pyramid consisted of rose granite from the Aswan Quarry.
The rest of the pyramid consisted of white limestone. The capstone was made partially of gold.
When completed, the pyramid was the same size as the Pyramid of Menkaure.
In later centuries, the pyramid was destroyed and used to build the city of Cairo.

The Pyramid of the Sun

The Pyramid of the Sun is located in Teotihuacan and is the largest building in that region. It can be found along the Avenue of the Dead near the Pyramid of the Moon.
The Aztecs gave the name of Pyramid of the Sun when they visited Teotihuacan centuries after it was abandoned by its builders the Teotihuacanos.
Its size at completion was 738 feet across and its height was 246 feet.
It was built in two phases. The first phase was built in 100 A.D. and the second phase was marked by the construction of an altar on top of the pyramid.
The most fascinating part of the Pyramid of the Sun was the fact that its perimeter of 2933m feet is exactly the same as the Great Pyramid in Giza, Egypt. That begs the question: Did the ancient Tiotihuacanos have knowledge of the Great Pyramid?
The Pyramid of the Sun is the 3rd largest pyramid in the world.Although the Pyramid of the Sun has the exact same perimeter as the Great Pyramid. It is only 246 feet high while the Great Pyramid is 476 feet high.
In ancient times, The Pyramid of the Sun was covered with ancient murals. Erosion has destroyed these murals and they are no longer visible.

Satellite Usage

NASA satellites are being uses to find undiscovered pyramids and other archeological sites in Egypt.
NASA satellites orbit 450 miles above the Earth and use infra-red technology to probe beneath the desert sands.
Thus far 17 pyramids, 1000 tombs and 3000 ancient settlements have been discovered.
Dr. Sarah Parcak, who is an archaeologist that is funded by NASA said that excavating a pyramid is "the dream of a lifetime" for an archaeologist.
NASA's cameras are so powerful that they can zoom in on any object that is less than three feet in diameter on the Earth's surface.
The satellites have shown that the city of Tanis, Egypt is covered with tombs.
Since the discoveries have been so numerous and so astounding, there is now a new science: space archaeology.

Saws in Ancient Egypt

Christopher Dunn is an engineer and a machinist who has studied the use of advanced technologies in Ancient Egypt. While he explored the famous pyramids at Giza, he discovered saw marks on some of the granite blocks.
Mr. Dunn published an excellent article, titled "The Mega Saws of the Pyramid Builders".
According to Mr. Dunn the diameter of the saw can be determined from calculations on the cut marks of the saw.
At Abu Rawash, there is a cut mark on a granite block measuring 47 inches wide by 56 inches long.
Dunn calculates that the the diameter of the Mega Saw that cut that granite block was 35.9 feet.
The full article by Christopher Dunn can be read HERE.

Building Pyramids

Professor Goyon, who is an expert on ancient Egyptian technology as well as an archaeologist has stated categorically that there was no wood used to build the pyramids. In addition to the fact that there was no wooden scaffolding, there is no evidence that ropes were used in ancient Egypt.
It is not know how the Great Pyramid was built. There are theories. One theory states that four mud ramps were built. Three of the ramps were used to drag the stones up the ramp. The fourth ramp was used to drag the carts back down to the base.
Wood that could be used in construction was very scarce in ancient Egypt. What little wood there was had to be brought in by wooden ships. Therefore, very little wood was imported.
Professor Goyon has proposed that the scaffolding was made of air dried bricks.
In conclusion, that is Professor Goyon theory on how the Great Pyramid was built.

The Great Pyramid

The Great Pyramid in Giza, Egypt is a massive structure. It is made of 2.5 million blocks of stone, which are placed so precisely that a credit card cannot be slid between the stones.
The precision of the Great Pyramid is mind boggling. The apex of the Great Pyramid deviates from True North by only 1/2 degree. The base of the Great Pyramid deviates from being a perfect square by only 0.80 foot. The Giza Plateau upon which the pyramid sits is only 1/2 degree off from being perfectly level.
The entire structure is a projection of the Northern Hemisphere. The apex represents True North while the base represents the Equator.
The Great Pyramid shows that the ancient Egyptians possessed advanced technologies.
