NASA satellites are being uses to find undiscovered pyramids and other archeological sites in Egypt.
NASA satellites orbit 450 miles above the Earth and use infra-red technology to probe beneath the desert sands.
Thus far 17 pyramids, 1000 tombs and 3000 ancient settlements have been discovered.
Dr. Sarah Parcak, who is an archaeologist that is funded by NASA said that excavating a pyramid is "the dream of a lifetime" for an archaeologist.
NASA's cameras are so powerful that they can zoom in on any object that is less than three feet in diameter on the Earth's surface.
The satellites have shown that the city of Tanis, Egypt is covered with tombs.
Since the discoveries have been so numerous and so astounding, there is now a new science: space archaeology.
